We'll have to keep our eyes on Stagecoach April 29 to get a peek at Shania Twain's upcoming new album, according to The Press Enterprise.
The pop-country queen will share the bill at the Indio, CA festival with the Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley, debuting at least some songs from the project. The album is expected in May, but details have been sketchy.
"This was an exercise in independence," she told the paper of the mysterious project. "I really just wanted to test myself and push my limits and face my fears. I haven't worked alone in a really, really long time after all of those years of being partnered with Mutt professionally. It was a huge leap of courage for me to do this alone and I knew I was going to be carrying the weight of it alone, too. I just kept challenging myself and telling myself 'OK, you're going to write this album and we'll find out what you're made of these days.'"
Mutt Lange is Shania's ex-husband and longtime producer, whom she divorced in 2010 after his alleged affair with one of her close friends. Just a year later, Shania married that friend's ex-husband Frédéric Thiébaud. Sounds like a country song, doesn't it? Look for Shania Twain as a mentor on NBC's The Voice April 24.
